Latest News.
I am having to cancel the proposed meeting of the Mither Shed on the 15th of March 2025
due to the fact I am scheduled for my knee replacement in approximately 4 weeks.
Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause, and I appreciate your understanding.
I will provide an update once I am available to reschedule.
Thank you for your support.
Aye, fair & square,
Roger (Worthy Deacon).
Great effort by Auld Grand Deacon Martin Kelly presenting
a Squareman cheque for ₤1100 to
Grant Hutchison, Community Development Manager, Brechin Buccaneers, for all their good

Congratulations to Neil Cooper on becoming Grand Worthy Deacon Elect, we wish you all the best for your coming year.
To update everybody on my current situation.
I resigned from Grand Shed and being Grand Worthy Deacon Elect due to some personal commitments
and the fact that at the beginning of the coming year I will be getting a knee replacement that would prevent me
from taking on the Grand Worthy Deacon position, so it was better for all if I stepped aside (no pun intended).
After the sudden resignation of the previous Worthy Deacon the Mither Shed was left in a very precarious position,
because of this I was once again installed as Worthy Deacon
However, we did manage to have one extraordinarily successful meeting last March with 17 Candidates, and this
demonstrated that there still is a desire for Masons to become Squaremen.
If it means that we only have one or two meetings a year, but they are very well attended then this may well be showing
us that is the way forward.
I am sure each and everyone of you attend your respective Lodges and could recruit Candidates from the Mark Master brethren,
and I would encourage you to do so as it is the fresh blood we need to keep things going ahead.
You will be aware of the difficulties that present themselves in all Masonic Orders when members are unable to
attend due to work, family commitments or ill-health,
As we move forward, I know that staying motivated can sometimes be challenging. Modern life gets busy, and
The Scots Guards Club is an excellent venue for access by bus or train and being in the centre of Edinburgh makes it
extremely suitable for our meetings.
I wanted to take a moment to reach out and recognize the fantastic work and dedication certain members have put in.
Together, we can brainstorm and find solutions. Every contribution count, and each step brings us closer to where we
want to be.
I am looking forward to seeing everything we can accomplish together!
and tried various strategies, mostly unsuccessfully unfortunately,
to re-energise the Shed.
Members really do have to step forward and offer to help by taking Office or learning some ritual, if we are going to be
able to continue.
then someone must step up and fill the position.
other commitments come up, but remember that the time
and energy each of you contributes is incredibly
valuable and brings us closer to keeping the Shed open.
They are also very accommodating.
Thanks to their hard work, we have already made some remarkable progress.
After a great deal of soul-searching there will be a meeting of the Mither shed
Candidates should ask for the application pack by sending an email to The Mither Shed
